H.I.I.T. Cardio Doesn't Work? The Surprising Truth!

H.I.I.T. Cardio Doesn't Work? The Surprising Truth!

Most people thanks to new studies and information have learned that H.I.I.T. is more effective than your typical long low intensity cardio session.

Take a look at your gym's cardio section and you can see that most are doing H.I.I.T. in hopes of losing weight and burning fat.

But there's a problem with what they're doing.

Let's first look at what H.I.I.T. stands for:

High Intensity Interval Training

More importantly, the first two words:

High Intensity

What I see on the treadmill is a lot of things, but in no way is it high in intensity!

Instead, what I see is I.T. running.

It goes like:

Jog, Jog Even Slower, Jog, Jog Even Slower, Jog, Jog Even Slower, Jog, Jog Even Slower

That isn't H.I.I.T.!

H.I.I.T. goes like

100% Effort Sprint, Jog, 100% Effort Sprint, Jog, 100% Effort Sprint, Jog, 100% Effort Sprint, Jog

Why do you think that the sprint part of H.I.I.T. is so short?

It's because that's when you start to slow down...If you're going 100% effort and high intensity.

Sprinters can only sprint 100% for 10-15 seconds. If that wasn't true, we would see a sprinter complete a mile run in 2 minutes.

But we don't..

So how do we solve this?

Here are two solutions:

1. Run Outside

On the treadmill I doubt you can go 100% effort as the treadmill does not go that fast.

So just go outside and sprint with no limits!

2. Get on a Bike or Elliptical

On both of these machines, you can go 100% effort with no limits.

So you wanna burn fat and lose weight? Do H.I.I.T ;)
